Description
KAWS “Companion (Flayed)” Vinyl Figure
The KAWS “Flayed” Companion is one of the artist’s most visually striking and concept-driven pieces, presenting the iconic Companion figure split down the middle to reveal a detailed anatomical interior. This design contrasts the familiar exterior with an exposed inner structure, creating a bold and thought-provoking composition.
One side maintains the classic Companion look—featuring the smooth brown finish, X-eyed face, and simplified form—while the other side exposes intricately sculpted muscles, organs, and skeletal elements. This duality highlights themes of vulnerability, structure, and the relationship between exterior identity and internal complexity.
The anatomical detailing is executed with precision, incorporating layered textures and varied color tones that give depth to each internal element. The contrast between the clean outer shell and the highly detailed interior makes this piece stand out within KAWS’ catalog.
Crafted from high-quality vinyl, the figure balances fine sculptural detail with a durable, display-ready finish.
Dimensions: approximately 11 inches tall.
The “Flayed” Companion is widely regarded as one of KAWS’ most iconic and impactful designs, appealing to collectors who appreciate more conceptual and visually complex works.
